A white halo inside a rose gold one
A cushion center ringed first in white diamonds and then in a scalloped rose gold outer halo. The warm metal is doing the framing that a second row of diamonds usually does.
Two-tone construction runs through several pieces that arrived together, and this is the clearest example of why it works. A white halo against white gold can disappear into itself; put a warm scalloped edge around it and the outline of the halo becomes legible from across a table.
It also has a practical effect on color. A rose gold surround is more forgiving of a center stone that sits slightly warm than a stark white setting is.

Why there are no numbers on this page
Documented figures only, sent in writing on inquiry — never estimated from a photograph.
Will the two metals wear differently?
Rose gold takes its color from copper in the alloy and keeps it without plating. White gold is finished with rhodium, which wears thin over years and is refreshed by a bench in an afternoon — so on a two-tone ring the warm half will look the same in ten years and the white half will want replating once or twice.
